Major improvements to HLOD workflows for World Partition worlds in Unreal Engine 5 plugin
We are introducing a new custom HLOD Builder class, which brings the full customizability, performance and quality of our Remeshing Processor to the HLOD workflows of World Partition worlds. Additionally, we have significantly improved HLOD processing speed. By using our new commandlet tools in combination with Simplygon Grid you can substantially reduce both processing times and resource demands.
Support for Unreal Engine 5.4
We've added support for the most recent release of Unreal Engine, version 5.4. This allows users to upgrade and take advantage of the improvements in Unreal Engine 5.4.
Significant updates to the Unity plugin
Our Unity plugin now runs without the need for USD as an intermediate format. This major rewrite has resolved numerous known issues, resulting in a more consistent and stable plugin. The revamped plugin now exclusively uses Compute Casting for material casting, delivering superior results across all pipelines. We’re pleased to announce that Unity Standard (BiRP), URP, and HDRP render pipelines are all supported.
Compatibility with Maya 2024 & 3ds Max 2024
We’re keeping up with the latest software releases. Simplygon 10.3 now supports Maya 2024 and 3ds Max 2024, allowing you to seamlessly integrate our software with these updated tools.
Blender 4.0 support
In our ongoing effort to stay current with the next major Blender update, we’ve added support for Blender 4.0.
Python 3.12 support
With the support of latest Python, we are enabling more efficient and advanced integrations, leveraging the latest features of Python 3.12.
Introduction of max deviation in Remeshing Processor
We’ve introduced MaxDeviation as an alternative to OnScreenSize in the Remeshing processor. This new feature ensures a consistent level of detail across input scenes of varying sizes.
Multiple additional features in UE5 plugin
In addition to the major improvements to HLOD workflows for World Partition worlds we have added multiple additional features to the UE5 plugin such as:
- Ray tracing LOD generation
- Cascaded LOD chains
- Nanite fallback mesh generation
- Collision primitive merging for Stand-Ins
- Vertex weight painting
- Onboarding quickstart widget for first time users
- And other smaller updates and improvements to the plugin.
