Simplygon Scene Context for Python

SimplygonSceneContext is an opaque handle to a manager-owned Simplygon scene. Keep the object referenced until every asynchronous job using it has completed, then call release() for deterministic cleanup.

For a complete workflow, see Managed Scene Export and Capture.

Methods

NameDescription
is_validCheck whether the manager still owns the represented scene.
releaseDeterministically unregister and release the managed scene.

Lifetime

Garbage collection eventually releases the scene, but scripts should not rely on garbage collection when prompt cleanup is required. release() is safe to call repeatedly. After release or plugin shutdown, is_valid() returns false and new managed-scene jobs fail.

If a job already owns the context transaction, release prevents new operations while allowing the active operation to finish before the SDK scene is destroyed.

Method details

is_valid

python
def is_valid() -> bool

Returns True while the active scene manager owns the represented scene.

release

python
def release() -> None

Deterministically unregisters the scene. Call it from success, error, and abort cleanup paths after removing active delegate callbacks.
