# Welder
The welder will merge vertices together if they are closer than the selected weld distance. If the weld distance is set to zero, only the vertices that share coordinates will be welded together. It can be used by setting the relevant RepairSettings on the ReductionProcessor, or by using the standalone Welder tool.
The welder should be used primarily for fixing the topology and connectivity of meshes that aren't connected like they should, welding larger values to collapse vertices and increase performance is not recommended. Use the ReductionProcessor instead.
