Automatic update via SimplyUpdate
Note
This article describing automatic update via SimplyUpdate only applies for Simplygon Free users.
Using a Simplygon Free license key, installed via the License application, requires the Simplygon SDK 8.3 installation to be up-to-date in order to prevent processing failure. The SimplyUpdate application runs as a scheduled task that periodically checks whether a new Simplygon SDK 8.3 version has been released.
Upon finding that a new release is available the SimplyUpdate UI is presented from where the update procedure can be initiated via the Update now button, or postponed via the Remind me in dropdown:
Important
It is recommended to go ahead with the update as soon as possible in order to prevent processings from failing due to having an obsolete Simplygon SDK 8.3 installed.
Note
To prevent the SimplyUpdate application from running, disable the Simplygon SimplyUpdate task in Windows' Task Scheduler.
Preventing SimplyUpdate from running is NOT RECOMMENDED since the processing grace period may then be overseen, as well as having to download and manually install the latest Simplygon SDK 8.3 release from simplygon.com (or manually having to trigger the Simplygon SimplyUpdate task in Windows' Task Scheduler).
